hello fellow wisconsonites - just noticed that the forecast has plenty of snow in the forecast, we've got about 1/4-1/2 inch on the ground here on the east side of madison. already hearing the 10-50s on city and county air. be safe, and hams - remember, winter comes with severe weather, too!

Why is that only relevant to hammies?

Regardless, I'll be sitting here getting paid the same if the motoring public crashes or not. So far, so good.

Nothing in the north central part of the state (YET) but 3 to 6 inches of fluffy white is forecast for tonight (Sunday) into sometime early Tuesday with hit and miss cells over the time period.

Just be cautious of the slipprey conditions and put on your winter driving mindset.

( Several severe traffic crashes up this way recently in snowy conditions caused by 'new residents' from 'way south' of here who don't have a clue about winter driving and have no insurance to boot. )

I'm not worried about my winter driving mindset. There's some others, though, that always have me worried.

Yeehaw! It took me damn near two hours to make a 40 min trip home tonight.

I got stuck once right under Chris' nose at the bottom of the USH 12 ramp but since I know how to drive, I successfully rocked it out and got on my merry way...which even surprised me since I have performance tires, big V8 and a low-slung sedan. The saving grace on the car was the posi rearend.

How did this happen, you ask? Fair question, since I make fun of people in the ditch all the time. Let's just say that next time I decide to pull over to clear the wiper blades, I need to remind myself not to....I stopped on the right shoulder and the car slid sideways off the gravel into the grass. Doh! The ELPD officer seemed a little high strung but was decent overall when he stopped. I told him I was almost out and even had help on the way, but I don't think he believed me until I popped it out of the ditch after he only pulled 200 feet down the road.

It's not even snowing hard, but the roads are horrible. Way to go county highways...NOT! Here's a thought: Plow the damn road while it's snowing so it doesn't pile up!

OR they can just leave it there as-is like some communities in northern New York State did back in the mid 1960's near Lake George, Glens Falls and Corinth... by the end of the winter season the streets were 2 to 3 feet higher than in summer... (LOL) Fall off of those packed roads and your vehicle would be there until summer...
