Last night after the line of severe storms passed through the Detroit Metro area, we had some great tropospheric ducting off towards the Mount Forest and Sarnia areas. I was receiving a Weatheradio Canada station on 162.500 MHz. They were talking about severe thunderstorm warnings for Huron, and Perth Counties mentioning Goderich and Stratford as being the path of these storms. Where is this transmitter located at, or has there been a recent frequency change to an existing transmitter?

Sadly they are slowly shutting these down. When will we learn we can not rely on modern technology all the time.

These 2 transmitters in Ontario: Orillia, ON; Brockville, ON
As of this Fall they will be shut down.

Environment Canada is not closing all transmitters across the province, just those that have overlapping contours will be decommissioned.

I received a reply from the Meteorological Service of Canada - Environment and Climate Change Canada. They recently changed the frequency of the Goderich, Ontario transmitter
XLT839 from 162.400 to 162.500 MHz to avoid RFI with other nearby sites. This transmitter only emits 100 watts, and they were kind enough to send me coverage map of this station.
