WELD COUNTY - Colorado State Patrol is investigating a double rollover wreck that killed one person and landed two others in the hospital early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred just before 2 a.m. at Highway 85 and Weld County Road 22, authorities said.
According to state patrol, a Dodge Ram pickup truck rolled, ejecting the three passengers.
One of the passengers was thrown under the truck and was killed, authorities said.
A second passenger was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and the third was airlifted to Northern Colorado Medical center, state patrol said.
As the Dodge Ram rolled, a wheel flew off and a large white commercial truck hit it, causing that truck to roll as well, according to authorities.
The driver of the commercial truck was not injured and walked away from the crash, state patrol said.
Authorities say alcohol was probably a factor in the crash.
