• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Just an FYI in case you hear this on the Weld Fire Ground Talk Groups this weekend.

From the Greeley Tribune:

On Saturday and Sunday, northern Colorado firefighters will participate in training at McCowen Hall at the University of Northern Colorado.

The dorm will be torn down later this month to clear the way for the new West Campus Residence Hall complex. The complex’s first phase is already under construction.

Union Colony Fire/Rescue Authority, Evans Fire Department and the Eaton Fire Department will conduct high-rise training for about 100 firefighters inside McCowen Hall.

People in the area can expect to see emergency vehicles, personnel and equipment as fire crews use non-toxic, theatrical smoke to enhance the realism of the training. Demolition is expected to start on McCowen on Monday.
