• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

When I came back from a trip overseas, I found that I am no longer getting any audio for WMFR Tac 2 on my BCD436HP scanner. All other Tac channels are good, the problem only seems to be with Tac 2 (37786). Am assuming that they moved it to TDMA.

I see that is active on sites 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3. It can also be heard on the West Metro Fire Rescue feed. I would make sure that you haven't avoided the talkgroup in the scanner and make sure that all the appropriate sites are being scanned.

The BCD436HP will handle TDMA automatically if they did switch, but it does not sound like they have switched.

I tend to use Mt Morrison for my West Metro feed. But I do have an image for Lookout mountain that I load into the GRE if I think its been kinda quiet.
