With our new radio system up and running we have added interoperability channels to the portables. The official band plan given to us by Harris includes the following.
8CALL90 - 851.0125/806.0125
8TAC91 - 851.5125/806.5125
8TAC92 - 852.0125/807.0125
8TAC93 - 852.5125/807.5125
8TAC94 - 853.0125/808.0125
7CALL50 - 769.24375/799.24375
7TAC55 - 769.74375/799.74375
7TAC56 - 770.24375/800.24375
7GTAC57 - 770.99375/800.99375
7CALL70 - 773.25625/803.25625
7TAC75 - 773.75625/803.75625
7TAC76 - 774.25625/804.25625
7GTAC77 - 774.85625/804.85625

The 800 MHz channels may or may not use the PL Tone 156.7
The 700 MHz channels may or may not use the NAC Tone 293

Thank you, personally, for all of your help in posting the new WPB frequencies and TalkGroups!! It's a shame that the coverage isn't a little bigger. I live less than a mile from WPB city limits and can only receive maybe 1/4 of the new systems' transmissions, while the old system I received everything without a single miss... And I have a 3-foot telescoping antenna on my roof! :(

It's my pleasure!!!! I live in the Lakeside Green area and pick it up fine. I was told by Harris that they used the existing towers thus the reason they have the same callsign. I've been on vacation the past 2 weeks so didn't listen at all. I'm the only male on nights (1800-0600) so it's not hard to catch me (lol).

It could be the congested area I am in. I'm in Lake Worth but I do have alot of trees and houses that are pretty packed in here... I suppose it could be my scanner settings too. I've experimented with various digital features such as changing the Threshold Level from Auto to Manual and then changing the Threshold Level numbers between 5 and 15, but Auto always got the best reception. I think I may have exaggerated a bit, I probably get 1/2 the transmissions, the other 1/2 is somewhat choppy, rarely getting any perfectly clear transmissions that I can understand. But there are other factors like maybe where my antenna is placed or facing. I'll try some other experiments soon and see what prevails.

Funny thing is, with my Convertacom in my car and an antenna on my trunk, my XTS5000 actually gets Broward County sometimes, tho transmitting is unreadable. radio-waves are a funny thing!

Well we have trouble up here even understanding what they are saying so the signal may be weak on your end but it could be strong and the transmissions are still garbled (lol)

Hello,

I saw your post about West Palm TRS and I can't get them on my 996p2 or my G5 pager.

I really need to hear WPB when they put out BOLOs.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong....can you help me ?

I am at Okeechobee and the Florida turnpike I can hear the control channel LOUD but no talking.

I have 436, 996p2 and G4 pager....I can't get any talking ?

scanner_geek,

Be sure to enter all alternate control channels. My G5 was using 855.8125 yesterday.

If that doesn't work, PM me and I'll try to help.

Does WPB still use the LE Comm TG's to talk to PBSO like they used to?

When they had Motorola radios they came directly over to the County. Now when they use their Harris radios it will soon go over ISSI to the County Master Site. In this configuration it will be transparent to the end user, except that the WPB PD users will not have County-Wide coverage in their current programming scheme. FD remains being dispatched by the County.

Once the County goes P25 there will be an opportunity for WPB PD to reprogram the Harris radios to be able to switch directly to the County like they did previously.

To answer your question, yes the LE's are alive and well for all of the agencies that are either resident users or interop. users.

Wow..your avatar and group patch is nice..where did you get the design idea?

Well, all the members of my group just got together and brainstormed a bunch of ideas, then combined them all into one. The star over Florida southern region is obvious why we put it there, then we wanted something to incorporate a tribute to the 343 lost in the World Trade terror attacks and dedicate 9/11, next to it since we respond to Fire, EMS, & Law Enforcement incidents/scenes we felt it appropriate to include those symbols as well. It took a few months of ideas and designs but we finally got it right to something we all could agree on.

Not quite the same but it's cool. None of us live in California tho, we all are from down here mostly retirees from local agencies. It has a few similar characteristics. I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say. We have had that patch as long as we have been around, over 10 years...
