I was thinking the heatwave along with this storm may have knocked out the tower for F1Could be that they're in the process of upgrading the F1 infrastructure, so they're on F3 in the meanwhile. 🤷♂️
So units in the field can be on either channel basically? Both channels are simulcast from multiple tower sites throughout the county, with both channels co-located at most sites. There is no single tower to fail, and if it did, it would likely knock out both channels at that site.
Their main dispatch channel is… no updates on the other channels but I assume soMount Vernon is now all fully P25?
WCPD F.1 will be going P-25 but F.3 is staying analog. I heard this last year from a guy that is working on their system from WECA.Ive been hearing everything on F3, Loud and clear. Sounds like they must be doing testing on F1. Last few weeks they were doing testing on F3. Maybe now they are doing testing on F1. They have a plan to upgrade both to P25, so I'm guessing that's what they are doing.
Now that I think of it… WC PD is like the only county law enforcement agency I can think of that still runs an analog system…. I really really hope they don’t go for the big “é” like other county law enforcement agencies in other statesIve been hearing everything on F3, Loud and clear. dutchess and putnam are still messing around with EDACS haha.... but wow i thought they would be on a county wide trunked net like orange county CORNET.... also i see WC PD is doing the same thing white plains PD is doing... part p25 part analogThere are multiple other countywide law enforcement agencies around the Hudson Valley and upstate NY that still use an analog system. Putnam County and Dutchess County Sheriffs' office for starters and much more.
Most of the local Police depts in Westchester are still analog, Maybe 4 or 5 depts that I can think of that are P25, Some Encrypt.
