Canadian truckers use VHF FM radios on what are known as LADD frequencies. See --> Trucking Common Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
I live near a highway and sometimes scan these frequencies to see if I can hear any chatter. But, they seem to be unused in my neck of the woods.
Being curious, I wondered what the letters LADD stood for.
It's a breeze finding out the meaning of GMRS or FRS or MURS. A very quick Google search will turn up the meanings. But.... I've literally spent days searching the web to find out what LADD stands for. Google and Bing searches turn up endless discussions about LADD on Canadian trucker sites, but I've never seen a definition of what it is.
Does anyone know what LADD stands for??
