• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'm in Girard visiting family, and I can't seem to pickup Crawford County on their usual VHF channels. Have they gone to something different? I can hear Pittsburg and Frontenac loud and clear.

Thanks for the replies. I suspected they went to the darkside known as P-25 land. Looks like I'll need to dump my Pro-2050 for something else for my next trip up here.

no they went APCO-25 digital mode so you will have to get a new scanner. Here are some good ones Uniden's HomePatrol-1 or Uniden BCD996XL
Could they have possibly gone MotoTrbo? I've noticed several agencies down there popping up in the FCC database with the 7K60FXE emission code, namely:

KAD414 (Crawford Co Sheriff)
KNAU471 (Crawford Co EMS)
WYG466 (Crawford Co EMS)
KNFZ697 (Crawford Co Fire)
WPGU877 (Crawford Co Fire)
WNYA417 (Crawford Co Sheriff)
WQFD943 (Arma PD)
WPXL905 (Arma PD)
KRV303 (Girard PD)
KAB206 (Pittsburg PD)
WNSM593 (Pittsburg Fire)

Any ideas?
