I hear things such as "suspect 10-80" all the time....

I look it up and I see 'sex crime'... I see 'lightning strike'... I see 'explosion'... and other crazy explanations....

But considering how often I hear this... 10-20x per day... it CAN'T be any of the above.

Does anyone know what 10-80 means here in the Metro?

Tx.

This question sure shows the need for using plain english rather than ten codes. Around Louisville Kentucky way 10-80 used to mean someone that ain't around no more, as in deceased. Other places a dead person was "10-7" as in "the victim is 10-7".
