What is "RFI"?

RFI usually means "Request for Information"

What that the exact context of what was said?
"RFI him for the ride in the chopper"

I think they would be talking about RSI, which stands for Rapid Suquence Induction or Intubation. Which for a trauma patient that is combative due to his injuries or any patient that can't control their airway. They would administer medications to render the patient unconscious/paralyzed and place a plastic tube in their airway.

It was RSI... The call was on West Neck near Ind. River Rd. It was either that, or transport him by ground to Beach Gen.

Unfortunately Radio Frequency Interference would not apply in the context he described....although it is a valid acronym you gotta look at it in the conversation and go from there. Otherwise you could go to Request For Information as well (which would not be a good fit either)

You are quite correct. I was attempting to inject some humor in my post. --------Actually, I deal with big time Radio Frequency Interference daily at work. Because of this, that's the first thing that comes to mind when I hear RFI.
