In Larsen terminology for the cable they use on their mounts, DS stands for Double Shield.

Larsen actually offers several different types of coax in their catalog, although most dealers only carry the two most popular, CX (RG-58A/U) and DS (RG-58A/U Double Shield).

They also offer UD (RG-58U Dual Shield) and LMR-200.

The CX type uses stranded wire and just the copper braid shield that generally is listed as 95% shield.

The DS type uses stranded wire and has an aluminum/mylar shield covered by the copper braid shield so is listed as having a 100% shield coverage.

The UD type is their newer type coax that uses a solid inner core wire and has both the aluminum/mylar shield and copper braid shield. This is the coax recommended for the highest performance applications such as the 700/800/900 MHz installations. It is often used with their newest style "HF" NMO mounts, that works with the older style antennas and with the newer style antennas that has a pin that makes better connections between the antenna and mount since it isn't just a tab or pin resting on a pad, but more like a plug connecting to a socket. The UD style coax and "HF" style mount is listed as being good up to 6 GHz.

The LRM-200 coax is also a higher grade coax that they offer since it is a lower loss than the typical RG-58 style coax. It is now rarely used in practice but is available for those customers that specify that particular coax for their installations. It was popular for the 800 MHz installations prior to the mount's redesign and introduction of the "UD" style coax.
