A demonstrative pronoun.

Sorry, the pic appears to be a 22 y/o BC235XLT. Won't do digital, will do analog, some antique trunking... If you were using it for just airband or for railfoaming you'd probably get your $10.00 out of it...but not much more.

Uniden BC235XLT

As for scanning, it depends upon one's needs. Click the link and review the wiki. I still have an BC2500xlt scanner and use it from time to time to monitor a single frequency as it works fine for analog stuff. I believe I purchased it in 1991 or something.

I agree with the BC235XLT. I have one next to me as I am replying. It has a 4 cell sealed rechargeable battery pack. Good luck finding a replacement.

tvengr, nice to talk to you again. What can you listen to on this beauty?
Here in Tulsa, most everything has gone digital.

A cursory Google search provided various links to batteries for that scanner.

Plenty of things to monitor with that scanner. I recommend reviewing the Radio Reference database for your area. Additionally, there is the air band and other stuff that is not encrypted.

I have a BC245XLT and it says Trunk Tracker II so it might be an earlier model. go to www.completebatterysource.com for new batteries. I just bought new batteries for mine along with the same for my Radio Shack PRO-90 which is almost identical to the 245. Also new batteries for my BC250D. They all work fine and don't cost an arm, leg or any other body part.

I had Batteries Plus put in a new battery on a 245xlt. That was 15 years ago, though.
