A BIG shout-out to my scanner friends in Metro Atlanta. I'm now just across the GA-NC border from Dillard in Franklin, NC. I lived in Atlanta/Smyrna for over 40 years, retiring in 2013. Been a scanner-nut since 1972 when I had the good fortune to live next door to a Motorola public safety sales guy. I caught the bug from him and have been in the hobby ever since. Here in the western NC mountains, most everything is still conventional (YES!!) although we do have a statewide P25 I trunked system - VIPER.
