can it do dtmf tones?
as i hear it sometimes on the scanner.
if it doesnt do dtmf, can it be added?

DSDPlus is Digital Speech Decoder. Here is all the modes it is capable of per DSDPlus -h

-fn Decode NXDN4800 (Kenwood NEXEDGE and Icom IDAS)
-fN Decode NXDN9600 (Kenwood NEXEDGE)
-fr Decode DMR/MotoTRBO (TDMA inputs + both output slots)
-f1 Decode P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2
-fx Decode X2-TDMA
-fp Decode ProVoice
-fm Enable dPMR decoding (no audio)

The 'Plus' in Digital Speech Decoder is for it's trunking capabilities as follows:

APCO P25 Phase I and II
Capacity Plus DMR trunking
Connect Plus DMR trunking
DMR TIII
Hytera
NXDN trunking
IDAS

Also includes mapping IF and ONLY IF your local trunking system transmits location data over the air.

Best if you purchase at least one year of DSDPlus Fastlane.

DTMF is decoded on NXDN, Fusion, and D-Star systems.

Actually, the "Plus" refers to the fact that it's an enhanced version of the original DSD software. DSD and DSDPlus are two different software packages written by different people.

I am not gonna debate that. Trunking came a bit later to DSDPlus. Trunking, LRRP, and DTMF added more to the meaning to "Plus" along with its purpose to decode digital speech.

i was thinking it meant dSd / Sound. i already paid for unlimited Fast Lane updates.
the only reason i asked is i was trying to hint on getting dtmf tones decoded and
showing the numbers for any .wav file or within p25 audio etc...

It is definitely superior. At least my opinion it is superior. It is an amazing difference in simulcast.
