Can someone tell me what this symbol is and more importantly how did I turn it on. (SDS100)

Close call. Depending on which scanner you have you probably pressed once or twice on one of the knobs, maybe volume.

I’m not sure, but I think that may have been added after I read the post. Or I just didn’t read all the way to the end 😏

So on SDS100 it is FUNC + softkey-1 according to the manual linked above.

He definitely added the (SDS100) after his initial post, as I was going to advise him to choose the correct thread prefix and/or clearly state which model next time he posts. The screenshot made it pretty obvious that it was an SDS series, so I didn't bother.
