Used to be fire dispatch when firefighters would be doing it but more departments are doing Sheriff EMS fire etc.. so what does your department call the operators??

My city Pd is known as Control and fd is known as fire alarm. The towns on same channel like fairhaven acushnet and mattapoisett are known as 818 821 and 819 respectively for police as the numbers represent the last 3 digits of the FCC callsign.

A few suburban departments of Cleveland refer to their dispatch as "radio". Most rural departments around northwest ohio who are dispatched by the county refer to dispatch as the county number x 100. For example, ottawa county is Ohio county number 62; consequently, dispatch is called "6200" (sixty-two hundred). Hancock county is number 32; dispatch is "3200"

3200, 6200 and so forth actually refer back to the Sheriff's Ohio LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System) address, which that number is part of.

Twinsburg PD uses "RADIO". Twinsburg FD uses "TWINSBURG FIRE". Never ever have heard a callsign. Maybe they have CW ID but I always listen in PL so I wouldn't hear it. I do hear "sometimes" Solon CW ID. but they also use "340" the numeric part of their callsign.

MICOM - Bergen/Passaic NJ paramedic dispatch
HUDCEN - Jersey City, NJ EMS
REMCS - Newark, NJ EMS
CENCOM - another NJ paramedic dispatch
LIFECOM - another NJ paramedic dispatch
MONOC - Monmouth Ocean (which is now a big consortium of hospitals)
COMCEN - Fort Lee, NJ
MEDCOM - a bunch of places all over
JEFFCO - Jefferson County, MO

Someone said "60-Control" (Westchester County, NY), there's a "44-Control" (Rockland County, NY) also.

With all those creative names, saying, "Dispatch" or "County" sounds so... unoriginal.

If you have a say, give your place a name. It's your identity!

so what does yout town call dispatch

lots of good answers, and I wasn't intending this to be a state specific, anyone can chime in. Most here in Clark County call "Engine 76 to harmony fire" , and so one as Clark Sheriff does dispatch for nearly all county departments. They most all announce the department name and designation.
back when you could here the City on hi band it was chief 3 calling" three to fire"! I appreciate the good responses!

Not true.

I worked in Ottawa County for 11 years, we never referred to dispatch as "6200" so I'm not sure where you are getting that from.

In Ottawa County we did not have any term to call dispatch, we just called our unit number and they would answer.

Wood and Lucas County refer to dispatch as "Wood County" or "Lucas County".

In our county we normally call our Combined dispatch Dodge, which is the name of our county. Some Fire depts call it the MABAS box number.

Others in area
Watertown - Radio
also - Base

In the Phoenix, AZ metro area, most PD's are "Radio" and most FD's and EMS are "Alarm".
The Phoenix Regional Fire Alarm Center dispatches about 2 dozen departments and districts. Mesa dispatches 4. The 3 Indian communities self-dispatch.

One small community self-dispatches. Rural-Metro Corp dispatches itself and 3 communities in Maricopa County, as well as 2-3 down in Pinal County I believe. RM also owns the 2 main ground ambulance providers outside of the few FD-run rescue/medic units.
