Suggestion, Whistler has flat rate $125 repair price (usually), but a cheaper and much better idea is to send it in for the Whistler Legacy Upgrade

You guys are lot of help I guess I can quit using as a paper weight
I think mine has operational defects
It will still be as cheap if not cheaper to get the upgrade versus just the repair. Plus it adds DMR and lets you update the database weekly through the free EZ Scan software. It improves reception and battery life as well. I strongly recommend it as do others on here.

Nope, it's a Radio Shack product. The Whistler upgrade turns it into a WS-1080..
