Car fuses for that matter? I just bought some on Chinazon and about a week - a week! latter I see this:

Now I don't want 'em. I looked at the usual car retailers and they didn't have the assortment that I'd like to have. Do you know of a good, REPUTABLE retailer that would sell a good assortment of all Amp ratings? Also glass cylinder types? Need some of those too.

I have a NAPA auto parts store here, and if they don't have what I want, they will order it.

A fuse is a safety device, and buying the cheapest ones will go about as well as you'd expect.

Harbor Freight sells packs of ATO fuses in multiple values/quantities in those little trays. A few years back they had a recall because they were no where near the rating marked on them.

Buying known name brands from reputable sources is the way to go with any safety device. Cooper/Bussman (aka Buss fuses) is a reliable manufacturer. Finding a reputable dealer is important. Not 100% sure I'd trust Amazon, I've received bootleg products in the past. Never had an issue buying from dealers like Tessco.

Years ago ATC blade fuses were sold that took way more amps to blow than specified. Mostly used car lots bought these. Had several cars burn to the ground because the fuse didn’t blow.

I buy my fuses at NAPA.

I get mine from the grocery store. It is a multipurpose universal fuse. It is called tin foil. Wrap it around any fuse. No more worrying about pesky amp ratings. I also use it for making my hats.

Don't laugh. We kept a repeater online for a week with foil from insulation tape wrapped around a blown 40 amp glass fuse before we could get a replacement. We now have spares in the repeater cabinet.

A high-end local hardware store is where I had to go. Big box and automotive stores had very limited sizes and amperages. A bit more expensive, but they had every fuse that nobody else had. Probably spent more money on fuel searching everywhere else.

I was in my local Ace hardware today and they stocked quite a selection of Bussman fuses.

However, if you want REAL luxury, you use these:

They make any radio work 11% better.

All very helpful when you are sitting in front of a computer and have the luxury of time.

When you are in a small town with a system that's offline, you are pretty much dependent on the local, usually independent, hardware or auto parts stores.

I pre-test all my fuses. So far they all have blown pretty much on spec... Doh!!!!
