I have several Antenna Specialists MON-Series mobile antennas with the venerable gigantic machined aluminum "corona ball" on the tips. I want to replace them with something less obvious. The metal rods are 0.100" in diameter. Can anyone recommend a source of a smaller metal ball or maybe those black plastic tips? I can't seem to find anything on Google searches. Thanks for any help.

Home Depot sells the rubber ones. They are listed as "rubber screw protectors". They show 6 different ones from #8 through 1/2" on the website. I think the store has more of them. They're in the hardware aisle, in the fastener bins. I use the red #8 ones and they work great on my antennas.

#8 Red Rubber Screw Protectors (2-Pieces) Model # 78048 Internet # 202210067 Store SKU # 756783

Lowes sells them as "plastic screw protectors", too.

Hope this helps,

Or small vacuum hose caps from the automotive aisle at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.

I finally got to HD. Unfortunately, even the #10 size is too large. The rods are only 0.100" in diameter. I huess I'll try those vacuum hose tips next.
