Firstly, thanks for the answers regarding the data transmission that precedes some RCMP communique. It is appreciated!

Now that I've been scanning for a little while, I'm wondering where I might find some CW activity on the (rather limited) frequencies I have access to.

I'm sure that there is no way I'll find it in _all_ of the frequency ranges that I'm able to scan with my lowly ole' Realistic Pro-58 scanner. (It was a gift from a friend who saw how interested I was in scanning).

I've tried searching the 'net for freq's that I might find amateur CW activity on, but alas, found none. A lot of the info I can find seems to point to freq's much more "precise" than I can dial into. IE 34.542MHz, when I can only get either 34.540, 34.545, 34.550.

My ranges are: 30 - 54MHz, 138 - 174MHz, and 380 - 512MHz.

All have a tuning resolution of 0.005MHz.

Thanks so much for your time!

With your frequencies listed, there is little if any CW acitivity. There may be the occasional "contest weekend" where there could be some activity on your listed freqs.. Athough CW is permitted on all amateur bands, most CW activity is found on the 160m-15m bands ie: 1.8 MHz to 21.45 MHz.. The CW portions of the bands you specify are 50.000 to 50.1, and 144.000 to 144.100. Tuning spacing shouldn't matter in most cases. www.rac.ca and www.arrl.org and www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/Hambands_color.pdf are good starting points for more info.. Or a local amateur radio club.
