I know very little about HAM radio but was interested in learning more. Where is a good place to start?

There's a couple of places on the net that you could look over: arrl.org and qrz.com. ARRL is the big ham club and qrz is just a really informative and useful site. There are others that you can find with just a tiny bit of googling. Plenty of information for the reading out there.

Also, find a local amateur radio club and go to one of their meetings. They're friendly and more than willing to get you started. Many of the clubs offer on-site testing when you are ready to take one of the exams.

Many hams will tell you that finding an "Elmer" is a super way to learn. An "Elmer" is a local mentor. Best way to do that these days is through a club.

That's good advice. I completely forgot about the local club route. I remember reading after the fact that a local one put on a field day last year. I'll look into if they are doing something similar this year. Thanks.
