Would tend to go with identified, brand name (i.e., Belden).

Who knows what the heck this stuff is.

Where can I purchase some good quality coax 50' length with the connectors already attached? The brand that came on the antenna is Radio Shack RG6 18 AWG. I would like similar type or better but can't spend a lot. RS.com is out of stock and no RS in my area carries the stuff.

thanks,

matt.

Would there really be any noticable differance in the Beldin brand and the ones from ebay?

As far as reception goes?

There is over a $15 difference (shipping included) in the Belden brand and those from ebay. Is it worth the extra $$$ ? ?

The quality of the cable will surely impact the end result one way or another.

Corners are usually cut in the shielding.

Nice feature of the Belden product you linked is the better style connectors.

You'd be surprised how coax can wick water if not properly weather sealed.

Extra $ means less grief in the long run.

I bit the bullet and got the Belden.

I am so aggrivated at my current situation. I think I have major water intrusion, or at least some significant moisture. I found tiny pin holes in my current coax. I ordered a new balun as well. You can read up on my problems here: http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32574 It has been on going for some time now. Hopefully this new coax and balun will fix my issues.

Thanks for the comments.

Just curious. Were the pin holes you found in your coax near ground level?

If so, you might want to consider putting your new coax inside of rigid conduit

Radio Shack sold some of the worst junk cable ever made. It was no good when it was new, they sold so little of their bulk cable that what you bought was usually old, and it dfeteriorated very quickly. They're out of the cable business now, and that's good news for anyone who needs cable.
