I want to thank 62Truck for his help yesterday. Now for another question. How do I know which tower say a Police department uses? Example- I know Newburgh Police use to use Mt. Beacon, but how do I now what tower say Maybrook uses? I looked it up but it doesn't say anything? I might have missed something. Once again thank you for your time and putting up with these basic questions...........Ray

The radios are set up to roam across the system. So you might hear a talkgroup active on multiple sites. Try Schunnemunk, or Beacon.

Not true. Not all talkgroups are set to roam across all sites. For example, you will hear Cornwall and New Windsor on both Beacon and Schunnemunk, but will not hear them on Graham. It all depends on what they paid for as they pay per subscriber fees. The more sites, the more you pay. Certain talkgroups, like POLICE 800 are sent over multiple sites. So even though a Cornwall unit only has Beacon and Schunnemunk programmed in their subscriber, if he switches to that talkgroup, a Mount Hope unit on Graham will hear him over Graham. The majority of talkgroups come over Beacon and Schunnemunk, so I’d focus on those two sites. Arden, Graham and Sam’s Point are more limited traffic. Forgot the other sites up in Ulster for Orange County traffic.
