To the question about 'still worth having' - precisely what are you trying to, or interested in, hearing? That will play a fairly significant role in such a decision

I use a 1095 on a P25 simulcast system with no problems. But as has been posted in other threads, no Whistler or non- SDS Uniden can be guaranteed to work in all scenarios involving simulcast. It all depends on location. I personally prefer Whistler scanners but for the money a TRX2 now costs I would look into other options like the SDS Unidens or a Bluetail Nano. In fact, I will be buying a Nano before the end of Jan.

I guess I should have mentioned, I do have the sds 200 and I had a TRX 2 before. When I had the TRX 2, I didn't have the sds 200. So, I found the TRX 2 a bit difficult but learned it. Now that I have the sds 200, I would like to get the TRX 2, just because I want something different and like the challenge.

Everyone is different, I find EZ Scan much more user friendly, database easier to update, no filters, no favorites list, no TG tags to activate. A friend asked me a few years ago to program his Uniden scanners for him and I really struggled with it, got it done, but I almost tore out my hair. I'm not saying one is better or easier than the other, but I am saying everyone has their favorites.

That said, here is a guide that I put together, it might help you @officer58. All EZ Scan versions are basically the same (I have WS1080, WS1098, and TRX-1) so this will apply to the TRX-2 as well.
