What PDs (or other entities) are full-time encrypted on their primary dispatch frequencies/systems in these two provinces?

I'll start with one which I recently monitored:

Cornwall PD

I'm not looking for municipalities using voice inversion but rather encryption.

Thanks!

Technically, Ottawa isn't "encrypted", it's just using ProVoice digital which is unscannable. It may as *well* be encrypted as far as scanning is concerned, but there is a difference.

OPP has some encrypted TGs, mostly related to surveillance and whatnot.

Are you asking who is full or partial? Most the major Cities have some encrypted channels.

Durham Police is another one fully encrypted if you want to call the iDent that

The towns of Essex, Leamington, and Amhurstburg, are encryted 100% of the time, and as an added side note prefleetnet, if you called Essex police after hours, you were broadcast on 142.440 with inversion scrambling no less.

Chatham-Kent is ProVoice, not encrypted last I heard. Same with Brantford.

London is AEGIS encrypted
Sarnia is P25 encrypted
Stratford is P25 encrypted
Strathroy-Caradoc is now MotoTRBO

City of Gatineau Que. P25 across from Ottawa; police are said
to be encrypted, at least according to this database.

I believe North Bay, Ontario is Encrpyted as well, maybe someone from the Nippissing Area can Confirm this. I know for sure they are P25, But not sure if they are encrypted.

I'll believe that when I see it. Or hear it, I guess. :)

Rumors about SQ going encrypted have been around for about 10 years. So far, nothing.

I'm sure SPVM will end up on a new system, but I will be surprised if it is encrypted. If they get sucked into an EDACS system, it could be ProVoice, which might as well be encrypted as far as civilians are concerned since you can't receive it. My guess is a P25 system with some groups encrypted but not all.

Of course, in VHF days, SPCUM's "INFO" channel (154.2200) was "encrypted" by transmitting an audio tone over the mobiles so that you couldn't hear private info being run ... and then the dispatcher would read it back to the cars. :)

I can hear some VHF and UHF from Mt.-Tremblant over a path of over
100km. That site is very high!

There is some LTR with voice inversion on 423.8625; is that possibly
PD? I didn't find anything matching on Infoscan.

Also, FD seems to be on 151.700 repeater (clear).

Not totally on topic here, but can we please make sure we're calling them what they are?

Just because something is digital does NOT make it encrypted. Examples of such non-encrypted digital formats are:

P25/IMBE/APCO-25/Motorola Astro, GE/Ericsson AEGIS/ProVoice, Motorola iDEN.

Encryption CAN be added onto any of those modes, but just because someone is using ProVoice or iDEN does not mean they are encrypted (mind you, it does mean your scanner isn't going to pick anything up). As long as they aren't encrypted, you can still purchase a radio (mind you, it won't be cheap) to listen in.

I know it doesn't necessarily apply in this thread, there have been a lot of times in the past where people toss around the word encryption in places it shouldn't be.
