The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I finally was able to get my Vertex VX900 programmed with 1 channel. I went to add more channels and i have the ability to add 16 channels to 1 group, But i am unable to add anymore frequencies after channel 1.

I have went through every setting in CE 39. Is there something i am missing?

Can we see a screen shot of what you are trying to program that gets ignored or failed? Maybe we can see the issue, otherwise, we have no idea?

Is this your first vertex radio? If so you need to activate the channels in the bank (if they're Greyed out) by scrolling down the channels list and hitting the space bar.

Also go to channel/group allocation and put 16 channels next the group name.

Tip: I see you're programming some PD channels for recieve only, go to the area of the transmit frequency and hit the space bar and you should get ---.----- that means the channel is recieve only and will give you an error when you try to xmit.

Is the problem that when you enter data into line two and below the radio doesn't accept it, or that you cannot enter the data into the CPS?

I figured it out. The firmware version of the CE 39 was 1.05 and the radio was 1.50. I upgraded the software and it works perfectly. Thanks for all the help
