I'm having a issue with my Rfinder HCP-1 connecting to my home wi-fi. every time I select it from my available list windows does not allow to connect for some reason. not having any issues with any other devices, I can also see it on my IOS device but it does the same thing. I'm thinking it's a window's 10 or ISP/Router issue. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!

Have you tried moving the Zero W closer to the wi-fi router, maybe free of any obstructing walls, etc? Could just be that the Zero W doesn't have an actual antenna, just a trace on the motherboard acting as an antenna.

Did it just start doing this or is this a new install? If you have another power supply you should try it. Some Raspberry Pi issues are caused by an incompatible, noisy or under-powered power supply. Good luck.

Perhaps the SD card has failed, in which case you'll need to make a fresh install of PiStar on a new SD card. A Class 10 32gb card (I am partial to SanDisk) would not trash about as much as on a smaller card.

My father and I were bangin' our heads trying to get his PiZero based hotspot working. This was after BUILDING two other working 3b+ hotspots.

What worked? Changing his network name. Turns out, either the PiStar image OR the Zero itself doesn't like some WiFi name/password characters. Once we changed his network name in a hail-mary attempt, the Zero based hs IMMEDIATELY connected and started talking!

I don't remember what specific characters it didn't like, but it definitely cleared the issue. We dropped some of the more special characters that other devices had no issue with.
