Yes, it's large, but it can be painful to listen to at times. No, make that most of the time.

Its a huge technical and financial achievement by "Shorty" who has built many (if not most repeaters) or taken over various existing repeater systems and incorporated them into the Winsystem.

My concern is there are many repeaters that are redundant in the same areas therefore removing an amount of repeaters for local "private" use. Every time you key up a Winsystem repeater the entire group of 70 or more repeaters key up together. If you want to have a low key local conversation it gets blasted all over the planet.

I've heard several repeater users keying up what used to be their local coverage repeater not knowing it was gobbled up by the Winsystem and now they can't use it in the same manner any longer. Its about like waking up one day, going out on your front porch to get the newspaper and finding out your front door now opens up on Times Square with everyone looking down on you in your slippers and pajamas.

Even worse, there is some questionably maintained repeaters on the SoCal side.
