My area is going through the process of rebanding. It is a statewide system with multiple towers, some if which are rebanded and many that are not.

I have a basic understanding of what the trunking tables do as far as telling the radios the proper voice channel frequency to tune to for each transmission.

My question is this; Can a single trunking table cover both rebanded and non-rebanded towers. I noticed that when I made the change to my tables with Win500, it added a line to the table but left the others entries in place. So is this table covering both plans?

My particular area has rebanded and I am picking up all traffic. I'm just not sure what the radio will do if I travel across state.

Assuming we are talking about an analog, Motorola 3600-baud SmartNet/SmartZone system, the simple answer is "Yes."

The reason for this is that the rebanded channel table differs from the "standard" channel table only in that certain channel numbers that were never used in the "standard" have been re-defined for channels that were never used prior to rebanding. All of the channel numbers that apply to channels that are in use prior to rebanding are unchanged in definition. As a result, the "rebanding" channel table works both pre- and post-rebanding.
