Getting another headache!... I've been attempting to program my Pro96 with the Win96 software after hit and miss maunal programming. All systems were "GO", but the old Pro96 doesn't seem to receive the new imported data.
I am using the RS 20-047 cable. I tested it's com port location and setup by uploading DSP firmware. This little task worked fine. (Successfully received the "field" upgrade).
After my test of the USB cable and hookup, I proceeded to Win96 software. I started with some simple editing of initial global parameter changes (welcome screen, backlight, delay times, etc). Following guidelines, cilck import to scanner and so forth, the upload shows as being sent to scanner with it's running bar graph. I recieve the uploade "done" message, reboot the scanner only to find nothing has changed!!
After several attempts with subtle changes....still no edits have been written. Thus the headache.
I have tried with and without the 3 inch adapter cable. I have run through the devise manager and verified my com port being used is correct and enabled with no hot sync or other devises sharing it. I have tried disabeling the two-way edit return of the cable, I've tried the extra import time function and I have tried "saving as.." my edits and reattempted import...Keeerap! The scanner still isn't receiving the info.
Yes, the scanner is on during import attempts.....
Any ideas? .....Still pretty much a newbie...Dana (emmie)

When you upload from Win96 to the scanner, what (exactly) steps are you performing?

Does the scanner's display indicate that it's receiving data?

DonS,
Good AM. First of all, thank you for your reply!
After throughly reading the configuration menu within the HELP portion of Win96, I arrived at the problem. I unchecked the RTS line HIGH box and was then able to operate. The Win96 program is fantastic! I just had to slow down and read.
To date, I have not melted the old Pro down to a puddle of smoking plastic......yet, so I'll proceed with programming.
Again, thanks for your response.
