Winamp is only one method to listen to the live audio streams.

Here are some suggested settings to improve your listening.
Some of these where found on the RailroadRadio.net - Home site.
The rest are from me.

*** How to listen to more than one stream at a time! ***
1 Start Winamp
2 Go Options>Preferences…General Preferences, then check the box for Allow multiple instances.
3 Press Close
4 Close Winamp to save the settings.

*** How to set Winamp for the smallest size on the desktop! ***
1 Go View
2 Make sure that none of the list are selected or at most select only Playlist editor.
3 Adjust the size by dragging the lower right edge to the left.
4 Close Winamp to save the settings.
Now you can have several Winamps open on the desktop by placing them in a vertical list.
Note: You can also select the “T” next to the red X in the upper right for an even small size.

*** How to adjust the left to right side audio balance for a stereo stream! ***
1 Go Options>Equalizer…select EQ enabled.
2 Go View>Equalizer.
3 The Equalizer panel should be visible at this point. Grab the balance slider and drag it to one side or the other (left or right)

*** How to optimize WinAmp Player for improved Reliability! ***
Here is what you can do if you are a winamp (windows) player user and you
seem to have a lot of re-buffering or stream drop outs going on.

Then when you run a winamp session and it connects into a stream, it will
buffer more of the stream to allow you to 'coast' thru the bad patches
caused by network latency and missed or errored data packets.
You will notice the stream will be slower to get started, as it has to acquire
256KB worth of data now before turning on, as compared to the factory
default of 64KB. You'll find the extra load time well worth it in stream reliability.

1 Go Options>Preferences
2 Go to Plugins on the left & select Input.

3 On the right hand of the Preferences screen, there should now be a list
of various input devices. Highlight the following entry;
"Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder [IN_MP3.DLL]" by clicking once with the
mouse. Then click 'Configure' at the bottom of the screen.

4 Next, a screen titled: "MPEG audio decoder settings" should open, and
you need to select the "Streaming" tab located in the top of this window.

5 You should now see a section in the upper left of the screen entitled:
"Streaming Data Buffer". And the value in the entry box will probably be
64KB. Change this value to something higher, up to 256KB.

6 Now would be a good time to make sure that both the "Streaming
Prebuffer" sliders are set to at least 50%.

7. Close the windows by clicking "OK", and then "Close", and finally close
Winamp itself. (Very important step, so winamp will remember the new
settings you just made).

*** How to save & recall streams as a Bookmark! ***
Save a stream as a bookmark:
1 After you started a stream, Go File>Play Bookmark
2 Select Add current as bookmark

Play a save stream that has been bookmarked:
1 Go File>Play Bookmark
2 Select the stream you want to plan from the list.

Editing a bookmark:
1 Go File>Play Bookmark
2 Select Edit bookmarks
3 Click on a stream & select right click to Edit selected bookmarks & edit as needed.
4 Close Winamp to save the settings.

*** How to set for auto re-start a stream if network hiccup occurs! ***
Make sure the repeat option is turned on. With this on, winamp will attempt to reconnect to the stream after a drop.
