It's important to note that Windows 10 isn't a singular thing, there have been many releases of Windows 10. Unlike in the past Microsoft isn't planning to produce a Windows 11, 12, etc. Instead they release regular versions (builds) of Windows 10. Builds/versions are numbered in the form "YYMM" where "YY" is the two digit year and "MM" is a two digit month of release. It's important to keep up to date and to make sure you know which version you are running. It may be that a newer release may/will break something while that something continues to work fine in earlier releases.
