Hey does anyone know what freqs or what systems I might find some of the following on : Security services such as Shepprott K-9 wackenhutt group 4 Elite Etc. I think some may be on on the kelcom or neumann systems but I havent heard heard them , also looking for where i might find the major towing services
like meijers redmonds & anyhing else that would be called to the 401 or windsor essex , while im at it,...I notice the old detroit pd i used to listen to is still on uhf
I have the mpscs in & mostly get state pd & count pd ( although the these can be a lil blotchy at times ), will dpd be switching soon , I'm wondering cause in control channel seacrh in 800 mhz I get a stong sig and id for a system with no activity on it the id was like 0A28h freq 854.125, so I wonder if thats where they will show up
One more thing , years ago I used to listen to the casino , I cant hear it anymore where did they go?
thats prob enough questions for one post for now,........
Oh & when I was doing a voice search in the 700-800 band i came acoss what I think is det airport maint crews around the 851 range they were going out to get a disabled aircraft , so either my new radio works pretty good or they have a frighteningly huge coverage area beyond the airport (this was grnd crews on portables)

The Casino frequencies given to you are correct from the database here.It is an LTR system.I'm listening to it right now.

The Kelcom system has tow trucks & security companies., it's in the database. It's an LTR system too.

Sorry, can't help further.I don't listen to the other stuff you mentioned.

I tried plugging in The Casino Freq. But I get Nothing. I Am using my 396T and using the RR data with the LTR sys.used. I was woundering if the LCN is right. Is the Data from RR correct as far as LCN. Also, the Ford Frequencies are bothering me bcuz of no Base or offset numbers, I tried putting in the numbers conventionally and I get some voice but Its all over the place. I think I will go for the Method of using a Slicer and Tap off a Discriminator point on my BC245 and see if I can get more info. I don't really care to listen to the stuff on that band it's just that they list the Data on RR and It don't JIVE. Same with the Casino...What more can I do.?

As far as I can tell The towing, and some security is on the Kelcom(sys.2) band. I have verified a towing company but not sure if it was redmonds, or meijers.

And, security or some kind of investigation firm ( like maybe WCB ) is on 1-07-015 on the KELCOM Sys. but that is scrambled with voice inversion which my ALINCO X2000 can decode. Still trying to find out who it is, So far I have been able to figure that a couple of guys in two locations following someone who apparently works for VET Cab was getting on a bus and the other guy watched him get off on howard. They began talking about a bad back which I quickly thought of Private investagator or Compensation board. Really interesting stuff there. It might actually be worth getting a descrambler for about $50 or so.
Anyways, I will keep you updated.

Ya thats what I think it is Marv , i just did a search using theyre lower & upper freqs & nothing , I remem way back when I used to listen to Casino, it was when they were on the boat so the move has probably put too much between my antenna & thiers, & Joe yes I remem years back hearing what I think were insurance investigators following people around and "rolling tape" ya the voice inversion is no biggie , actually I belive theres a way to use the ssb of a hf radio to make a poor mans decoder...

LCN...... Logical Channel Number.

It refers to the proper order in which the system freq. are to be loaded into the reciever.

If you notice on RR some of the systems are LTR. and there system freq. are numbered in a specific order. I thought that it might be wrong .
I tried it in conventional and thick I get something on the voice channels. I took a drive down there and I sat for a bit and sure enough I was picking up the talkgroups. Some of the ones that came up where:
0-13-125 , 0-17-126
0-13-129 , 0-09-126 , 0-17-125
Was not able to identify these as I had to get back to work (lunch break).
I don't know but I can't seem to pick these talkgroups up in around the town of Tecumseh. maybe thats too far.

Okay on LCN, thanks.

The 13 XXX talkgroups are the services groups (Janitors, Housekeeping etc.). The 09 XXX talkgroups are security. The 17 XXX talkgroups are slot technicians/ slot maintenance, etc.

I have quite a list of talkgroups, but never bothered to sort/label them yet.

Sounds like yourself, & Foehammer are too far away to pick them up.

Ok. Great at least that confirms that I was picking them up.
I can't believe that its too far they must be using some low power systems or something. Oh well, not much going there anyway.
Thanks for the info.

The LTR term for LCN is "Home Repeater" numbers. You are seeing groups homed on 9, 13, and 17. The database record shows HR 1,2,3,4,5 which I suspected was wrong anyway, because they are usually not numbered that way; often in steps of 4. If you sit one one channel and watch the IDs, you can get a good idea what HR you're listening to. If you're feeling ambitious, why not update the database. :)

Taken from my Scanstar software help files.

LTR
LTR ID codes are entered in the following format:

LAHHUUU

Where:

L is the letter L to indicate an LTR ID code. You can omit this when entering LTR ID codes.
A is the area code, either a 0 or a 1.
HH is the home repeater number, and can be any two digits between 01 and 20.
UUU is the user code, and can be in the range from 000 to 254.

*********************************************
Casino Windsor

Security ID is listed as L009125 (for ex.)
Slot attendant ID is listed as L017215 (for ex.)
Janitorial/housekeeping is L013215 (for ex.)

I can't give exact information for each TG, but generalization as posted above.
