Winradio WR-G1DDC issue

When I am using my PC and I change the DDC BW fron 24khz to another bandwith I get a lot of static. When I do this on my laptop there is no static, any ideas what's up?

PC Quad Core w/SB X-FI 24 bit sound card

Laptop uses a Dual Core w/ on board audio
