so i was out at the lake this morning about 7:00 and a csx truck came down the tracks where i was fishing and talked for a bit and said he would be back by in few hrs so sat there and a few trains came by then i hear some one whistle and he came walking down the trail and sat down and started fishing next to me he seen i had a scanner with railroad bands and chuckled and said say boy u know you only have part of the freqs. i said what do you mean by part of them he said we have new bands that took affect few months ago so i said look at my radio i have the new bands so he looked and he said you have some but not all i was like can you let me have the freqs. he said sure you gotta email i was like uh yea so i gave him my email and after 40 mins of fishing he left and then i left 10mins after hoping to see these freqs. on my cpus email but didnt so i was siting here decided to check my mail b4 i went to work and bam there they where alot are the same but alot are not im adding them *** i post this we'll see

Thanks for the freq's Kamakaze.... I'll have to crunch these in my railroad scanner. I am sure that in my town of fostoria, They are used pretty heavy. I'm over where one of the iron triangles in the US are.. We have trains rolling through there 24-7

Strange list. There are a bunch of freqs lower than AAR7 --- probably for use in Canada.

There are also some higher than the AAR narrowband list --- since he was in a truck, perhaps they are used for communication within the track maintenance groups. I have heard of those guys using a wide variety of freq, even GMRS, for internal communications.

In the AAR narrowband range the list he provided you has several missing freqs -- for example AAR 114 Rx freq, 160.3275. Another one that jumped out as missing is AAR47 160.815. His list jumps from 160.800 all the way up to 160.8225.

For a quick check of the freqs, I pasted your list into a column in a spreadsheet, then made another column which is the frequency step from the previous freq. The missing freqs pop right out as 15kHz steps when most other freqs are 7.5kHz apart.
