Every time I make changes to my database in Sentinel and write it to my scanner, There is a message that there is nothing to scan and I have to go select the list to monitor and redo all the service types. It never used to do this; but, the past 4-5 times it has done it. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

You might check your Profile and confirm Monitor is set to On for those Favorites Lists of interest. I've found that newly created Favorites Lists have this set to off.

I am not creating new favorite lists....just adding or removing depts from time to time. About 2 weeks ago, I added one dept and wrote to scanner and that was when it started. Now, it does it every time.

You state you are making changes in Sentinel and then writing to the scanner. Do not read from the scanner or you will over write the changes you made in Sentinel. In the Profile you are using for that radio make sure you have all of your FLs set to download. Then make sure Monitor is ON for the ones that you want to load when the scanner powers up. In the Profile you must also turn the Quick Keys ON for the FLs that you want the radio to use once it is programmed. This will resolve your problem.

I have a profile named Database Update. When I Write to Scanner, all of the favorites lists are turned off in the profile so that the only change made to the scanner will be the database update. Do not check the box to Erase Favorites Lists on Scanner. The favorites lists in the scanner will remain as they are.

This sounds like a case of a QK turned off.

On the radio, you have quick keys turned on, thus are able to scan normally.
But... in Sentinel, you have the same QKs turned off, so when you write to the radio, you turn them off and get nothing to scan.

When you read the radio first, you are turning those QKs back on in Sentinel.
By editing the individual favorite(s) that you have quick keys in, you can check to see which are on - or off.

Is MONITOR also turned off? Even if you only write the DB, the profile is also written and if Quick Keys or Monitor is off in the profile, it will be off in the scanner post-write.

The first thing you need to do is READ the scanner and SAVE it then each time you make a change to the scanner READ it and save it.

First, have you made a profile and name it? If not, you will need to complete the profile for home, trip, etc.

For each profile, you will need to:

1) check all of the service types in the profile consistent with what you have programmed or want to hear below the "scan selection" tab; 2) define which Favorites you wish to download and monitor and click "yes" for each column indicated; 3) complete all other parameters in the radio to define the behavior of how you wish the radio to work. For instance, you can go in and adjust things to your liking.

Once you "save" you profile, you can then load it back into the radio. Make sure all of the quick keys are checked in your Favorites. This should work, provided you've properly constructed your Favorites.
