Here's a question for the people in Pierce County.
I am monitoring the WSP 700 simulcast Tacoma system and heard fire traffic.
Talkgroup 65460 (not patched). Firecom Medic one. Later heard Medic 17??? Engine 93 looking for a call at 317th and Meridian. The dispatcher said to go to Bravo 2. Engine 93 said sorry and switched.
Any ideas? I'm guessing Tacoma fire or Puyallup.
What is talkgroup 65460? Mutual aid or LERN?
First time hearing this after monitoring for months.

I've never seen that. You were hearing "FireComm" they dispatch for all of Pierce County except for Tacoma. TG's in that range (65000+) are itinerant and my guess is someone, somewhere, pushed the wrong button on a console. The radio system here is a Single County Wide Communications System, including WSP. Any agency can talk to any other agency on any frequency.

It was very strange. I have heard WSP on SS911 but I have never heard anything but WSP traffic on their 700 Tacoma simulcast. Looking at my log there were a couple dozen transmissions on 65460. Nothing today. I think you're right with the wrong button push.
Thanks for confirming FireComm is Pierce County and not Tacoma.

Several trunked systems in the area are interconnected via P25 ISSI and share access to various TGs.

Most likely what happened is a subscriber in the field on the WSP system tuned to one of the Firecom zones/channels (9x is Graham and 17x is South Pierce). TGIDs on one system can be different when heard on another system.

WSP units are using several different systems (WSP, SS911, IWN, VHF conv) depending on their field location and what they've been directed to use. The times I've listened to WSP Tacoma Simulcast it's been mostly quiet except for occasional traffic on Seattle South. I have only been able to reliably hear Tacoma East/West activity on the VHF conventional channels. WSP is heard on SS911 but it's sporadic and likely because it's on a specific subscriber's scan list.

I thought about a trooper monitoring fire for a accident or other incident. That is probably the case.
I'm in Federal Way and WSP Tacoma simulcast works very well. You're right about traffic being hit and miss. Currently I'm hearing Olympia, S. King, and N. King. No Tacoma east or west, but last night they were very active. S. King seems to always be there which I'm interested in.
154.680 S. King has been a problem from my location even when they were analog. I seem to get multipath. That's why I monitor 700 with my P25RX. Very good audio, and when it's not the dispatcher asks for a repeat.
