I'm finding the higher HF bands pretty hot this afternoon. Lots of strong FT8 signals, even on 10 meters, where I rarely hear anything, and 11 meter CB is teeming with skip from all over North America.

That old sun doesn't fool around! :)

Earlier tonight the 31 meter band (WWV included) was MIA. Except for a weak, grainy, fade-rich Brother Stair on 9395 or a similar frequency (going by memory).

This was even mentioned, briefly, on Bloomberg Business radio this morning as I was driving to the gym. Mentioned Spaceweather and the fact it would be a G3 class storm. Unusual place to hear of such things...Mike

40, 15, and 10 in good shape all weekend for the contest...
however, be advised that the propagation will end when the contest ends ;)

It was a bust - looks like the majority of the CME missed us, and we just got a glancing blow. Next time- and there will, no doubt, be a next time...

The last couple of days trying to DX even any of the clear channel stations on medium wave has been pretty difficult in the evenings.
Most nights if I run an ETM scan on my Tecsun 310et I can capture over 100 signals. Last night after running a scan it captured 33 signals from my location in eastern Ontario Canada. Stations WJR Detroit, WABC, WCBS NYC and WBBM Chicago were pretty much covered in noise last night when they usually boom in here.

The CME they announced for last weekend fizzled, but something hit us good last night. And they didn't predict that.

The SW bands are all wiped out right now.. Attached is the current K index graph. A K of 7 is very high.. Not seen that many times per year.

Bands are in bad shape today. All week up 15,12,10 was open here before sunrise. Today can't hardly find a good signal on 20m and 30m was still dead silent at 1100 gmt.

40M FT8 is back in “normal” propagation for me this morning on my Eagle One vertical. But was nearly completely dead all day yesterday.

Well... I received a very low power AM transmitter from eBay today so I can broadcast my own music programming on medium wave all over my apt. at 1000Khz on the AM band. :ROFLMAO:
