If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

I have a pair of XG-100M radios with the CH100 display.
One unit complains that it's lost MRU and I've tried to update the firmware to XLP R06T02.

I've managed to get Burnapp, Bootapp, ECP/XGP to write ok, but still in a bootloop with "Lost MRU" on the screen.
Coming from Tait/Moto world, this is an entirely new frontier for me....

Could one of you kind folk please confirm which .cmp files that I am supposed to load onto the ECP/XGP, the MRU, and which one goes onto the CH-100?

Sorry... I don't normally need anyone to hold my hand and walk me through with this kind of process, I typically like to learn new things... but these radios are a whole new kind of different to me.
Once I know the process, I'll have the sequence down to an art in no time, I just want to bring the units all up to date so that I can start using them.

Kind regards,
