• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

XPR 7550 Digital Private Call Contact Programming

Hello! I recently got a new XPR 7550 to go along with my current one. I was programming the other one and cloning it when I FINALLY got the radios to initiate a private call to each other when I pressed the PTT button on a digital channel. I went into CPS and messed up the programming by switching the contacts from one radio to the other. I have no idea how to fix it now.

I have two different contacts both with a Private Call under the Digital dropdown.

What I require: When one contact on one radio presses the PTT button, a private call is initiated to talk to the other contact on the other radio.

I am NOT looking for a programmer to hire for $9,918,827 an hour, just some quick simple help or an explanation from one radio enthusiast to another.

(The attached files below are the 2 contacts I have in CPS)

-Thanks, Evan Leatherman

Apologies in advance for peppering the forum with questions, but I am having a related problem. I can initiate a call from radio one to radio two, but not the other way round. I am guessing that I'm missing a contact or radio ID, but I'm far from certain.

I looked at this again, and both radios have a group list named "Call 1" whioh is a group call. Still, I can initiate a call to that from one radio, and not the other. I added a contact to the radio that CANNOT initiate a group call. This contact is a private call to the second radio, and it appears that this radio CAN initiate to the private contact, but I have to select it from the contact list.
