Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

XPR / SL Non-E Firmware not on Customerhub?

Does Motorola still list firmware for non-E XPR and SL portables and mobiles? I'm currently going through the process of upgrading an old RM deployment, and part of that has involved rounding up a bunch of radios that haven't been programmed in a few years. Included in that are a bunch of XPR 3500s, XPR 7550s, XPR 5550s, and SL7550s (all non-E) which are running R02.05 and comparably old codeplug versions. These aren't supported by current RM or CPS2 versions, and thats unfortunately what the rest of this deployment has already migrated to, which hasn't been an issue since most of the radios to this point have been Enhanced/E models.

With that said, I cannot find the firmware for the non-E XPR 3000/5000/7000 or SL7550 listed on Customerhub. Does Motorola still offer it? I can find XPR 4550 and 6550 firmware fine, but not for the "in-between" models - its all either packages for Enhanced radios or "legacy" Gen 1 TRBO, none of the early Gen 2 models. What was the last firmware version to support those models, and does Motorola still list it?

Firmware packages for e and non-e series is the same
That makes sense - should the latest firmware work for all non-E XPR/SL radios? I've got the last 3 release packages for portables and mobiles installed and imported to RM server but I'm getting the "no valid packages" error when attempting to update any of them.

I know you can get to 2.10.10 on non-e 3300 and that is on there.
At one point there was a 2.10.5 and 2.10.9 and some of my 3300 radios (including e) had issues going to 2.10.10 thru radio management and I had to step thru 2.10.5 or 2.10.9 first.

Edited to add: you cant get past 2.10.10 without paying for a SUM license and I am not sure you can do that with non-e.
