XTL2500 Serial program cable, pinout?

I have several XTL2500 serial programming cables that no longer work. Ive been looking into repairing them with new connectors. since the originals are epoxied in i can't see the pinout configuration. does anyone know what it is? thanks.

I don't think that will do you any good. If I recall correctly the serial cable(OEM) has
a level converter circuit either in that epoxied connector or somewhere in the cable.
It is not a straight through wiring setup.

This is correct for a MIC jack programming cable.

However you can build a programming cable for the accessory jack, on the back of the radio, without any extra parts.

Just a serial connector, and an accessory connector.

I have made many.

If you want that pinout, lemme know.

Good info - thanks, but what do you do if the radio requires +12V ignition sense to power up?

Have a wire for that pin coming out of the connector to hook up to a 12v source.

If you have a 12v power supply, dont just hook up the main leads, but also add in the ign sense.

Do remember that those accessory plugs are pretty beefy.

I built one that could do Serial Programming, USB programming, and ignition sense, all in one accessory plug.

We called it the octopus programming cable.

Do you know why the Emergency pin is shorted to Ground ? If I want to use the Emergency mode, do I have to cut/separe this signal from Ground ? Thanks
