• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

What does this little symbol mean? It only likes to show up in the mornings when I leave for work and then disappears roughly three hours later around 8:00 AM (EST)

I see you are in Chuluota, I am just down the ways from you in Winter Springs. What are you monitoring when the symbol appears? On my work XTS 3000, that symbol shows up on frequencies that are open CSQ. When on a channel that as toned squelch, it is not present.

I'm actually on my own licensed frequencies and I sat here for roughly 7 minutes off of 17/92 and Semoran at the Northerntool and went to pickup my mic (HMN4079C) and the symbol came on, I placed my mic back on the clip and it went off... So I thinks it's a PL Hub delete.

What do you do that you have an old XTS3000? I have two XTS5000 handhelds I use and am about to snag myself an APX8000.

I've seen you before!! You assisted the MVA and looked to be first on seen right across from the Macaroni Grille there off of Mitchell Hamock, at least I think that was you... It was about a month ago maybe....

After poking through your threads I noticed you are a UHF listener. With R/M being transferred you might lose them!

Do you monitor all the local traffic UHF wise?

About a month ago I did stop at a wreck at Mikkler and Red Bug Lake Road, which is near the Macaroni Grill. I usually monitor VHF (Forestry, State and Federal) but monitor UHF for DMR and the SARnet system. As for R/M, operations will remain the same. The merger will not be affecting anything operation wise, however, R/M is working on going MotoTRBO

Yes - PL on/OFF aka CSQ

When you take the Mic OFF-Hook the system should (if correctly programmed) Open Tone, so you could hear if others were using another tone (Community Repeater) and not transmit over them.

It is PL Hub defeat if it is happening when you pick up your mic.
