Hi everyone!
I bought an earpiece with volume control (p.n.#BDN6666A) and an accessory adapter (p.n.#BDN6676D) for my XTS 2500. But all this stuff seems to work quite strange...
First, the accessory adapter has a small PTT button. If nothing is connected to the adapter this button only enables...display backlight! However, if the earpiece is attached, the button works as a PTT just as it is supposed to.
Second - I have a genuine Motorola remote speaker mic and it has a built-in 3.5mm earpiece jack in the connector. I pluged Iphone earphones in it and they worked fine, but only LH earphone played audio (it's normal since the 2-way radio isn't a stereo audio system and it's allright with me). But when i tried to connect the cellphone earphones to the BDN6676D adapter, my radio began to transmit all the time untill the earphones were disconnected from the adapter. What's the matter? I suppose there's something about the earphones' rsistance...
And when I finally connected the genuine Motorola earpiece to the genuine Motorola accessory connector I was shocked - the volume of the earpiece was so low that even in a quiet room at home I had to turn the radio volume knob almost all the way to the max. position...not to mention the busy street
The earpiece volume control is turned all the way to the maximum, too. That's ridiculous!
I'm very disappointed in my pricey purchase... Do you have any suggestions?
