• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a question if anyone can help. I have a a radio that has 240 conventional personalities in it. When I try to delete them I can not, I can add them all day long. The RED X is not highlighted as the green + mark is.
It is the same for zones and channels I can not delete the unwanted ones.Radio is not set for trunking. Here is the flash code.5A0401-000307-3 any ideas I am kinda lost. Radio does have FPP enabled. I am fairly versed with CPS but this one has me stumped. I do not need 240 just 1. Help please!!! I can send a code plug file on a PM if requested to look at.

You nailed it in your initial post. FPP in the flash means you have 240 Conventional Personalities to start with.

To get down to 1 personality, remove FPP from the flash.

Most of us won't mess with it and use other, cleaner methods of management.

For example, I tend to preprogram common pairs for FM then use MPL and leave it in a travel zone. I found that of the 653 2m repeaters in Texas, almost 60% use 1 of 15 pairs and 1 of 5 tones.

UHF is even more interesting because you have groups like the Armadillo and Cactus Intertie's which have a handful of channels that they run all sites on. Armadillo for example, has 8 channels and they typically hop around on one of 5 PLs.

On my XTS2500 with FPP, I only allow FPP in ZONE 1. So 16 personalities for that ZONE, & 3 more for the rest of the radio. I believe if you go to a personality, & turn off FPP, you can then delete that personality. They DID get FPP right in the APX line.
