Yaesu: Yaesu 8800?

Have a 8800 working good then today went to power it on and no display unless I disconnect it has continuous beeping sound no display. Any ideas how to correct this as soon as I plug it back on immediately will start beeping noise again?

Are you sure that your power supply is putting out the correct voltage and current? Voltage should be measured at the radio.

Is the radio trying to transmit when it powers up?

it was working then powered it off now continues beeping as soon as I plug it back in. Will try to power it off my USB to wall adapter that I use for programming.

appears to be not enough voltage so will troubleshoot from there

FT8800 won't run off a usb power cord. It needs around 13.8 volts or at least more than 12 volts

It sounds like you may have found your problem, but check the cable between the head and body. It doesn't matter if it's set up as remote or assembled as one unit. RJ connectors and IDC (crimped) stranded wires can be a great weak point.
