Yaesu: Yaesu DR-1X Open Transmit/Receive mod?

Have any info on opening the transmit and receive on this repeater? Even though it is simply 2 FTM400s, it will not even receive outside of the amateur bands.

Why would you want to? They are lousy repeaters to begin with, why take it out of band where it’s performance will be even worse than it already is.

Not sure what this will do on a DR-XX repeater, but here is the mod for an FTM-400 radio. Its possible this will make it go everywhere, or the internal controller might be limiting things.

Yeah I've seen that, but the problem is the repeater won't even RECEIVE outside the ham band.
