So I am thinking about the way to setup a Yaesu FT-8900R, with 3 separate antennas (small disc magnetic mounted) with the Diamond MX3000 Triplexer.

My thought is to get 1 VHF, 1 UHF, and 1 800Mhz Antenna, and plug those into the TriPlexer, then into the radio?

I am really new to this, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time.

Yep, it's that simple.

For the sake of good reception on 800MHz, keep the coax short and pick good coax! It doesn't take much RG-174 at all to really attenuate an 800MHz signal... (And it seems to be used on a lot of mag-mount 800MHz antennas.)

What are you going to listen to in the 800MHz range? Most everything I've thought about around here is trunked, which would be annoying on a non-trunking receiver. But maybe I'm forgetting about something...! :)

I agree, everything here is trunked as well, but I might as well hook it up, and have it available if im going to run the wires!
