Yaesu VX-3R Li-ion batteries?

The manual for my Yaesu VX-3R only talks about alkaline batteries to be used in the optional case. Is there a problem using Li-ion batteries? I bought it used in 2012 and I'm not sure when it was manufactured but I am sure that when the manual was printed, Li-ion batteries were not as prolific as they are now.

I got Extra Batteries for mine on E-Bay like $10 Each. they Dry Cell Case I got is a Yaesu OEM and never worked for me. unknown why. Just Type in Yaesu VX-3 Batteries.

I bought several spare batts for my VX-3 on Ebay a few years back and they were .99c each brand new since they are a very common battery for cameras and other small electronics.

the amazon or ebay bbatteries are cheap and work fine...finally a deal on a yaseu accessories
